Hosting plans are often sold with vague language. A VPS should be easier to understand: you need to know what is allocated, what is shared and what you must protect yourself.

ArkHost Linux VPS plans use KVM virtualization and are hosted in Europe. Every plan lists its CPU cores, allocated memory, NVMe storage, traffic allowance, backup inclusion and dedicated IPv4 address before you order.

Allocated RAM and NVMe storage

RAM and NVMe storage are allocated to the VPS. Your operating system, applications, databases, logs and files use those resources. The plan card gives you a number you can plan around.

Watch resource use after deployment. Memory pressure causes slowdowns and process crashes. A full disk causes databases, updates and log rotation to fail in ways that look unrelated. Fix the cause or move to a larger plan before the server is constantly at its limit.

CPU is shared physical capacity

ArkHost lists the CPU cores assigned to each VPS plan and states that physical CPU capacity is shared. That is the honest description of a virtual server. The VPS has the cores shown on its plan, but it does not reserve an entire physical machine for one customer.

Most web applications have bursts of CPU use followed by idle time. A busy build process, image conversion task, large import or overloaded database behaves differently. Measure the workload instead of treating CPU-core count as a performance guarantee.

Network and traffic

Every plan has a published traffic allowance. Traffic includes visitors, downloads, API responses, operating-system updates, remote backups and anything else sent to or from the server. The Linux VPS service has a shared network connection. Check the current product page for the connection details and allowance attached to your plan.

Backups are a recovery layer, not the only copy

Linux VPS plans include backups. ArkHost automatically creates two backups each week, and the service controls allow up to two manual backups. Use a manual backup before an operating-system reinstall, major upgrade or risky deployment.

Keep a separate copy of application data somewhere else. Provider backups are useful when you make a mistake. They are not a reason to skip your own database dumps, configuration export or off-server copy. Restore a test copy so you know the backup is usable.

Plan changes and growth

Resource needs change. A VPS that fits a prototype may not fit a growing database, more users or a new container. Review memory, disk, CPU and traffic before the limit becomes an outage. When you need more capacity, upgrade to a larger Linux VPS package through the VPS control panel.
