DirectAdmin supports database users and per-database privileges. It is not limited to one full-access user for each database.
Review or change privileges
- Open Account Manager → MySQL Management and select the database.
- Find the relevant user in the user list.
- Open Modify Privileges, where available.
- Select the privileges required by the application and save the change.
- Test the application. Keep a record of the previous privileges so you can restore them if necessary.
Menu labels and available controls depend on the panel version and account configuration. If a control is missing, contact ArkHost rather than assuming that DirectAdmin cannot perform the task.
Choose permissions carefully
A reporting application may need only read access. An installer or upgrade may need to create or alter tables. Follow the application's requirements and grant only what it needs. Application roles, such as WordPress editor accounts, do not replace database-level permissions.
