Coupon Client for WHMCS Print

Coupon Client associates existing WHMCS promotion codes with specific client accounts. It can apply an assigned promotion when a logged-in client views the cart and reject a restricted code used by another account.

The module does not replace WHMCS promotion rules. Product eligibility, expiry, usage limits and the promotion's other conditions still matter. Assigning a code does not guarantee a discount on every order.

Installation

1. Upload the supplied modules/addons/coupon_client/ directory to your WHMCS installation.
2. Open System Settings → Addon Modules and activate Coupon Client.
3. Enter a valid module license and assign administrator access.
4. Choose Auto-Apply Mode and Priority Mode, then save.
5. Open Addons → Coupon Client to manage associations.

Create an association

1. Create or review the promotion in WHMCS Promotions first. Set its discount, applicable products, dates, usage limits and recurring behavior.
2. In Coupon Client, search for the intended client and select the promotion.
3. Add an optional note and create the association.
4. Verify that it is Active. The administrator interface permits one active coupon per client; deactivate the existing association before switching to another.
5. Log in with a test client, add an eligible product and check the cart total. Also test an unassigned account with the same code.

You can assign the same promotion to several clients. Use the association list to search, filter, activate, deactivate or delete entries, and export associations to CSV.

Restriction rules

• A coupon with no active associations follows normal WHMCS promotion eligibility.
• A coupon with active associations is restricted by the module to those assigned client accounts.
• An unassigned account, including a guest, can have the restricted code removed from the cart with an error message.
• Deactivating or deleting the last active association removes the module's account restriction. It does not disable the promotion itself. Disable or expire the promotion in WHMCS if it must no longer be used.

These checks depend on the addon and a valid license. Do not treat an inactive or unlicensed addon as continuing to enforce private coupon access. A code can still be shared; the module controls account eligibility while its checks are running.

Configuration

Auto-Apply Mode offers silent, which applies the code without a notification, or notification, which displays an application message.

Priority Mode offers client_first, the default that replaces a manually entered code with the client's assigned code, or manual_first, which keeps an existing manual code and applies the assigned code only when the cart has none. Manual First does not exempt a code from account restrictions.

The client-area sidebar can display the active discount. Review both the displayed promotion and the actual eligible cart total when testing.

Troubleshooting

• If a coupon is not applied, verify login, Active association, expiry, remaining uses and WHMCS product eligibility. In Manual First mode, check whether another code is already in the cart.
• If a code is rejected as invalid for the account, review all active associations for that promotion. Assign the correct client rather than removing every restriction unintentionally.
• If another active coupon is reported, deactivate the old association before enabling its replacement.
• If restrictions stop working, check module activation, license validity and the WHMCS activity log before continuing the promotion.

Back up the database and module files before upgrading. The module preserves its association table on deactivation. For support, provide the module and WHMCS versions, reproduction steps and redacted activity-log errors.
