Recalculate Prices for WHMCS Print

Recalculate Prices asks WHMCS to recalculate stored recurring amounts for existing services, domains and product addons from current pricing. Changing catalogue prices alone does not necessarily update existing customer records.

These instructions apply to version 1.3. Check the version of your downloaded module package before use.

What changes

• Products: matching active or suspended client services.
• Domain TLDs: matching active, expired or grace-period domains, using the longest configured TLD match.
• Product addons: matching active or suspended addon instances.
• Client Products and Individual Domains: selected records from the individual selectors.

The module calls UpdateClientProduct, UpdateClientDomain or UpdateClientAddon with autorecalc. Addon recalculation uses the WHMCS API; it is not a direct database-price update.

Existing promotion assignments are retained rather than added, removed or replaced by the module. WHMCS handles the resulting calculation. Review recurring discounts and negotiated prices before recalculating them.

Before any pricing change

1. Back up the database and record the affected IDs, current recurring amounts, currencies, cycles and promotion assignments.
2. Review current product, domain, addon and configurable-option pricing in every relevant currency.
3. Check your customer-notification obligations, existing invoices and external payment subscriptions separately.
4. Test a small, controlled set on a representative non-production installation and compare the results with the expected amounts.
5. Obtain approval for the exact production scope before running it.

This is a write operation, not a preview. The module does not provide an exact before/after dry run, a resumable migration ledger or automatic rollback. Large requests can stop after changing only some records. A backup and a record of the original amounts are essential.

Installation

1. Use an approved module package compatible with your WHMCS and PHP versions.
2. Upload recalculate_prices to /modules/addons/.
3. Activate it under System Settings > Addon Modules, or Setup > Addon Modules in older layouts.
4. Configure the license and restrict administrator access.

Using the module

1. Open Addons > Recalculate Prices.
2. Select Products, Domain TLDs, Product Addons, Client Products or Individual Domains.
3. Choose only the items in your approved scope.
4. Review what that selection means. A product, TLD or addon selection can affect many customer records.
5. Use the recalculation button and confirm the operation only when ready to apply it.
6. Review errors and inspect the changed records in WHMCS before continuing with another set.

The individual service and domain selectors show at most 500 records. Their lists are not a complete inventory on a larger installation. Do not select a whole product or TLD merely to work around the individual-selector limit unless that broader scope has been approved.

Currencies, invoices and subscriptions

The calculation is delegated to WHMCS and its configured pricing. Do not assume a simple exchange-rate conversion proves the result. Compare representative records for every currency, billing cycle and promotion you use.

Changing a stored recurring amount does not by itself revise an existing invoice or a provider-side recurring subscription. Reconcile those separately through your normal billing process. Preserve paid invoices and other accounting records rather than editing them as a side effect of repricing.

Errors and partial results

Version 1.3 reports per-service and per-domain API failures and uses the documented recalculation flag for individual products. If a request fails or times out, check which records changed before running it again. Do not treat an error as proof that nothing was written.
