A temporary alias is a random email address that forwards to one of your mailboxes and deletes itself after the selected period. It is useful for registrations, trials and other situations where you do not want to expose your normal address.
Create a temporary alias
- Open your Hosted Email service in the ArkHost Client Area.
- Open Overview or Aliases.
- Select Generate Temp Alias or Temporary Alias.
- Select the mailbox that should receive the messages.
- Select an expiry period.
- Select Generate.
- Copy the generated address.
The alias appears in the Temporary Aliases section with its destination and remaining lifetime. It stops working automatically after expiry.
Delete one early
Open the Aliases tab and select the bin button beside the temporary alias.
Note: Deleting or expiring an alias does not remove messages that were already delivered to the destination mailbox.
