You can use ArkHost Hosted Email with Thunderbird, Outlook, Apple Mail and other standard mail apps.
Find your connection settings
- Sign in to the ArkHost Client Area and open your Hosted Email service.
- Open the Setup tab.
- Use the values shown under Incoming (IMAP) and Outgoing (SMTP).
Enter the account in your mail app
- Email address and username: your complete email address.
- Password: the mailbox password, or an app password if two-factor authentication is enabled.
- Incoming server: copy the IMAP server and encrypted port shown under Setup.
- Outgoing server: copy the SMTP server and encrypted port shown under Setup.
- Authentication: password authentication is required for both incoming and outgoing mail.
Prefer the SSL settings shown in the Client Area. STARTTLS is also available when an application does not support the SSL option.
Automatic setup: If your domain's DNS records are complete, compatible mail apps may discover these settings after you enter the email address.
If the connection fails
- Confirm that the username is the full email address.
- Retype the password rather than copying a saved password from another account.
- Check that SMTP authentication is enabled.
- If two-factor authentication is enabled, create an app password and use it instead of the main mailbox password.
