Manage domain renewal and expiry Afdrukken

Domain registration renews separately from web hosting and email. Keeping a hosting subscription active does not by itself keep the domain registered. Check the renewal settings for each domain you want to keep, before it approaches expiry.

Check the domain and its dates

Sign in to the ArkHost Client Area, open Domains > My Domains and select the domain. Review its status, next due date, renewal amount and any unpaid-payment notice. Make sure you can receive messages sent to your account and domain contact email addresses.

The billing Next Due Date is not necessarily the registry expiry date. Check expiry information on the renewal page where available; if the dates are unclear or disagree, ask support to confirm them. Do not mistake an SSL certificate's expiry date for the domain registration's expiry date.

Review automatic renewal

Open the domain's Auto Renew section. If you want to keep the domain, enable auto-renewal if it is disabled, then check the saved status. If the control is unavailable, ask support rather than assuming renewal is enabled.

Auto-renewal is not proof of payment or a completed registry renewal. It controls automatic renewal invoicing in the Client Area. Check any payment request and complete the payment steps shown. For receipts or payment-method changes, follow Find your invoices and manage payments.

Renew manually when available

Use the domain's renewal option if offered. Review the available registration periods, displayed price and any additional charge before adding the renewal to your cart and completing checkout. Availability depends on the extension and domain status; some domains cannot be renewed far in advance.

If a renewal payment request already exists, open that request first instead of placing another renewal order. After payment, check for renewal confirmation and updated registration information. If payment succeeded but renewal remains unclear, contact support with the domain and payment reference. Do not pay again simply because a date has not updated.

If the domain has expired

Contact support promptly with the domain name and the notice or error shown. A missing renewal button does not prove that recovery is impossible. Equally, an old invoice does not guarantee that renewal is still available. Recovery options, deadlines and charges depend on the registry and current status; ask us to confirm them before paying. Recovery is not guaranteed.

If you no longer need it

Disable auto-renewal for the correct domain and verify the saved status. Ask support about any existing invoice or payment subscription; do not assume the toggle cancels either. Hosting cancellation is separate: see Cancel a service or stop its renewal. If you want to move the domain instead, arrange the transfer while it is active rather than allowing it to expire.
