Steps to get your domain working with ArkHost hosting.
Prerequisites
- Active domain name
- Active web hosting package
1. Configure DNS Records
Add these records in DNS Manager:
- A record - Points domain to server IP
- CNAME record - Points www to your domain
- MX record - For email delivery
- SPF record - Email authentication
2. Add Domain to Hosting
If adding additional domains:
- DirectAdmin → Account Manager → Domain Setup
- Click "Add Domain"
- Enter domain name
3. Enable SSL Certificate
- DirectAdmin → Account Manager → SSL Certificates
- Select "Get automatic certificate from ACME Provider"
- Choose domains to secure
- Click "Save"
Note: Domain must point to server (A record) for SSL to work.
4. Install Website
Choose one:
Option 1: Softaculous Auto Installer
- 250+ one-click apps (WordPress, Joomla, PrestaShop, Nextcloud, etc.)
Option 2: WordPress Manager
- DirectAdmin → Softaculous → WordPress Manager
- Specialized WordPress management tool
Timeline
- DNS propagation: 2-48 hours
- SSL activation: 5-10 minutes after DNS works
- Website installation: 1-5 minutes
