Zendesk for WHMCS Печать

  • 1

Zendesk for WHMCS gives clients direct access to their Zendesk support tickets inside the WHMCS Client Area. Clients can view, open, reply to, attach files to, and mark tickets as solved without access to the Zendesk portal. Zendesk remains the only support-ticket datastore and sends all support notifications.

Key features

  • Displays tickets opened through WHMCS and tickets created in Zendesk from email.
  • Lets clients open tickets, send public replies, and mark tickets as solved.
  • Supports up to five attachments for each new ticket or reply.
  • Can attach a client-owned WHMCS service or domain to a Zendesk custom ticket field.
  • Shows the active Zendesk ticket count and recent Zendesk tickets on the WHMCS client homepage.
  • Renews Zendesk OAuth access tokens automatically.
  • Requires no synchronization cron, webhook, queue, or duplicate WHMCS ticket data.

Requirements

  • WHMCS 9.0 or later.
  • PHP 8.1, 8.2, or 8.3 with cURL and the matching ionCube Loader.
  • HTTPS enabled on the WHMCS installation.
  • Zendesk API and ticket attachments enabled.
  • A dedicated active Zendesk administrator for the OAuth client.
  • A valid ArkHost module license for the licensed edition.

Install or upgrade the module

  1. Extract the package for the PHP version used by WHMCS.
  2. Replace the complete modules/addons/zendesk_for_whmcs/ directory.
  3. In WHMCS, open Configuration > System Settings > Addon Modules.
  4. Activate Zendesk for WHMCS if it is not already active.
  5. Open Configure and grant access to the required administrator roles.
Important: Replace the complete module directory when upgrading. Do not merge new files over an older synchronization build because removed webhook or synchronization files could remain on the server.

Create the Zendesk OAuth client

  1. Sign in to Zendesk as the dedicated administrator.
  2. Open Admin Center > Apps and integrations > APIs > OAuth clients.
  3. Select Add OAuth client.
  4. Enter a recognizable name such as WHMCS.
  5. Select Confidential as the client kind.
  6. Leave the redirect URLs empty.
  7. Allow the global read and write scopes.
  8. Save the OAuth client and copy its identifier and full secret. Zendesk displays the full secret only once.

Configure WHMCS

Open Configuration > System Settings > Addon Modules > Zendesk for WHMCS > Configure and enter:

  • License Key: The ArkHost license key issued for this WHMCS installation.
  • Zendesk Host: The bare Zendesk hostname, for example example.zendesk.com.
  • OAuth Client Identifier: The identifier of the confidential Zendesk OAuth client.
  • OAuth Client Secret: The full Zendesk OAuth client secret.
  • Default Zendesk Group ID: An optional group for tickets opened through WHMCS.
  • Related WHMCS Resource Field ID: An optional Zendesk text ticket-field ID for the selected service or domain.
  • Maximum Attachment Size: The per-file limit in MB. The default is 20 MB and the maximum is 50 MB.

At Configuration > System Settings > General Settings > Support, leave Support Module set to WHMCS Built-in System. Keep WHMCS support notifications disabled so Zendesk remains responsible for requester notifications.

Test the connection

  1. Open Addons > Zendesk for WHMCS.
  2. Select Test Connection.
  3. Confirm that WHMCS reports the connected Zendesk user.
  4. Sign in as a WHMCS client and open Support > Tickets.
  5. Confirm that a Zendesk ticket with the same requester email address appears.
  6. Open a test ticket, send a reply, upload an attachment, and mark the ticket as solved.
  7. Confirm each action directly in Zendesk and confirm that no native WHMCS ticket was created.

How client access works

The module matches the exact email address of the authenticated WHMCS user to a Zendesk end user. Tickets received by Zendesk through email appear when the requester email matches. If the Zendesk end user does not exist, the ticket list is empty and opening the first ticket creates the requester.

Account owners can access tickets. Other users associated with the selected WHMCS account need the tickets permission. Service and domain choices also respect the user's products and domains permissions.

Translate the client area

English strings are stored in modules/addons/zendesk_for_whmcs/lang/english.php. Copy that file using the WHMCS language name, such as spanish.php, and translate the values in $_ADDONLANG.

Keep the array keys and named placeholders such as :size, :id, :description, :domain, and :date unchanged. English is always loaded as the fallback, so a translation file may contain only the values it changes.

Troubleshooting

  • Invalid or inactive license: Confirm that the license key belongs to this WHMCS installation and that the licensed domain is correct.
  • Connection test fails: Check the Zendesk hostname, OAuth identifier, OAuth secret, read write scopes, and dedicated administrator account.
  • No tickets appear: Confirm that the WHMCS login email exactly matches the Zendesk requester email.
  • A reply reports that the ticket changed: Refresh the ticket and submit the reply again. Zendesk safe-update timestamps prevent a stale page from overwriting a newer update.
  • Ticket count takes time to update: Zendesk search indexing can briefly delay homepage count changes after a ticket is created or solved.
Data handling: The module stores only the WHMCS client ID, requester email, Zendesk user ID, and encrypted OAuth access token details. Ticket subjects, messages, replies, attachments, history, and statuses remain in Zendesk.
