Your VPS details page has a browser console, so you can reach your server even without SSH. There you can also view your 7 backup slots and restore a backup to the same VPS. A restore replaces the current disk contents. Keep your own copies of important data; backups are meant for short-term recovery.
Use the IP address and username shown on the VPS details page in your ArkHost client area. On Linux, connect over SSH as root or the username shown. On Windows Server, connect with Remote Desktop (RDP) as Administrator or the username shown. Where a password is available, use the Password control there to request it when you need it. Whether SSH or RDP is reachable depends on your image and guest configuration. The browser console on the same page does not depend on SSH or RDP.
Check the service status in your client area after ordering. We will notify you when your VPS is ready. Provisioning time can vary; we do not guarantee a fixed number of minutes.
Choose your operating system during ordering. You can reinstall with another available operating system from Actions in the client area. Reinstalling erases the current disk data. A custom image is not guaranteed to boot under KVM; drivers and boot mode (BIOS or UEFI) can matter. Troubleshooting custom guest images is outside the included infrastructure support.
Your VPS includes 7 backup slots. In the client area you can view available backups and schedules, and restore a backup to the same VPS. Restoring replaces the current disk contents with that backup. Backups are for short-term recovery, not long-term archiving. Keep your own independent copies of important data outside ArkHost's infrastructure.
Yes. Open the browser console from the VPS details page in your ArkHost client area. You can use it even when SSH or Remote Desktop (RDP) is not reachable.

Outbound SMTP on TCP port 25 is blocked by default to prevent spam, scams and abuse, and protect IP reputation. You must open a ticket with ArkHost support describing your intended mail use before sending directly. Unblocking is subject to review, is not guaranteed or automatic, and does not depend on your plan. Otherwise, outgoing mail requires an approved relay. Ask support about relay setup and applicable sending limits.
You can host legitimate websites, applications, databases, development and test environments, and a private VPN for yourself, your household or your organization. All uses must stay within your plan resources and acceptable-use rules.
A private VPN for yourself, your household or your organization's staff is allowed. Selling, renting or offering VPN, proxy or anonymization services to outside users is prohibited, even for free. Public proxies, commercial VPN services, VPN reselling and Tor exit nodes are prohibited.
Do not run cryptocurrency mining, staking, validation or other blockchain workloads. Spam, phishing, malware, attacks, illegal or copyright-infringing material, fraud and harassment are prohibited. So are network probing or port scanning without the target owner's explicit permission, and offering DDoS mitigation as a service.
CPU is shared under fair use. Short bursts at 100% are allowed; sustained saturation over days or weeks may be limited to around 50%. RAM and storage capacity are dedicated to your VPS. Disk fair use is measured as a rolling 7-day average: per day, writes up to 10 times the disk capacity and reads up to 50 times the disk capacity. Exceeding fair use may throttle writes to about 1 full disk's worth per day and reads to about 5 times the disk capacity per day. Your VPS stays online but may be slower. Continuous reads at maximum speed for 20 minutes may also trigger read throttling.
Monthly included transfer is shown per plan. If you use it all, service may be suspended until more transfer is arranged; contact ArkHost support. Abuse or resource-policy violations can lead to limits or suspension. Severe abuse can cause immediate suspension.
Windows Server and other commercial software licenses are not included unless explicitly stated for your service. Where a Windows Server image is available, it is bring your own license (BYOL). You must obtain and maintain valid licenses that permit use on a hosted VPS, including any access licenses the software requires, for example for Remote Desktop users. Being able to install or activate an image is not evidence that your use is properly licensed.
ArkHost looks after the host infrastructure, the network and the VPS controls in your client area, and helps with issues there. You manage everything inside your VPS: operating system updates, guest security and firewall, user accounts, installed applications, software licensing and your own backups. Troubleshooting inside the guest operating system is not part of the included support.
