How to create and download DirectAdmin backups.

Create Backup

  1. DirectAdmin → Advanced Features → Create/Restore Backups
  2. Select what to backup:
    • Email accounts
    • Databases
    • Web files
    • Domain settings
  3. Click Create Backup
  4. Wait for completion notification in Support Center

Download Backup

  1. DirectAdmin → File Manager
  2. Open backups folder
  3. Find your backup file (named with date)
  4. Click Download

Backup Tips

  • Full backup = select all options
  • Backups appear in queue, not instantly
  • Large sites take longer to backup
  • Download before creating new backup (overwrites)

Storage Locations

After downloading, store in:

  • Local computer
  • External drive
  • Cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox)

Notes

  • Manual backups supplement automatic BU-Backups
  • Useful before major changes
  • Check file size before downloading on slow connections
