How to Remove a Domain Pointer in DirectAdmin

This guide will walk you through the process of removing a domain pointer from your DirectAdmin account.

Prerequisites

  • Access to your DirectAdmin account
  • An existing domain pointer that you want to remove

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin

Open your web browser and navigate to your DirectAdmin login page. Enter your username and password to access your account.

  2. Navigate to Domain Pointers

In the Account Manager section, you can access Domain Pointers in two ways:

    • Click on the "Domain Pointers" icon, or
    • Type "Pointers" in the navigation filter box and select the option when it appears
  3. Select the Domain Pointer to Remove

In the Domain Pointers section, locate and select the checkbox next to the domain pointer you wish to remove.

  4. Delete the Domain Pointer

Click on the "Delete" button. A confirmation dialog may appear; if so, confirm your action.

Important Note

After completing these steps, your domain pointer will be successfully removed. Please be aware that this action is irreversible. If you need to reinstate the pointer, you'll have to create it again.

Troubleshooting

  • If you don't see the domain pointer you want to remove, ensure you're logged into the correct DirectAdmin account.
