This guide will walk you through the process of removing a domain pointer (alias) from your account using DirectAdmin.
-
Log in to DirectAdmin
Access your DirectAdmin control panel using your account credentials.
-
Navigate to Domain Pointers
In the Account Manager section, locate and click on the "Domain Pointers" icon. Alternatively, type "Pointers" in the navigation filter box, and then click on the "Domain Pointers" option when it appears.
-
Select the Domain Alias
In the Domain Pointers section, you'll see a list of your current domain aliases. Locate and select the checkbox next to the domain alias you wish to remove.
-
Delete the Domain Pointer
After selecting the domain alias, click on the "Delete" button. A confirmation dialog may appear; if so, confirm your decision to delete the pointer.
-
Verify Removal
Once you've completed these steps, the selected domain alias will be removed from your account. To ensure the process was successful, refresh the Domain Pointers page and confirm that the alias no longer appears in the list.
Important Notes:
- Removing a domain pointer does not delete the actual domain from your account; it only removes the alias.
- If you're using the removed alias for email or web services, make sure to update any relevant settings to prevent disruptions.
- It may take a short while for the changes to propagate across all servers.
