Change the username (part before @) of an existing email account in DirectAdmin.
Steps

E-mail Manager → E-mail Accounts

Find your email account. Click the + icon next to it.

Select Change Password/Username

In the Username field, enter the new username (part before @)

Click Save
Important: This changes your login username and email address. Update it everywhere it's used.
What Happens
- Old address:
oldname@domain.com
- New address:
newname@domain.com
- All emails and settings are preserved
- The domain part (@domain.com) stays the same
After Renaming
- Update email clients with new address
- Notify contacts of address change
- Update website forms, business cards, signatures
- Consider forwarding old address to new one temporarily
Common Issues
Username already exists
Choose a different username. Each email address must be unique.
Can't change domain part
This only changes the username. To use a different domain, create a new email account.
Email clients stop working
Update the username in your email client settings to match the new address.
