Block Email Addresses Print

  • 0

Use DirectAdmin's SPAM Filters to block unwanted sender addresses. The filter applies to mail for the selected domain, not just one mailbox. Hosted Email customers should use their service's Spam tab instead.

Block an address

  1. Select the receiving domain in DirectAdmin.
  2. Open E-mail Manager → SPAM Filters.
  3. Choose the email-address option and enter the complete sender address, for example spam@example.com.
  4. Select Block.
  5. Check the action for filtered messages. Use the spam-folder option while testing if you need to review false positives.

Manage the filter

Remove the entry from the filter list to unblock the address. Messages previously dropped are not restored by removing the rule.

If messages still arrive, check the actual sender and rule spelling. Do not assume wildcard syntax from another mail service works here. A domain filter can be more comprehensive, but may also block legitimate senders.
