This configuration only applies to ArkHost Hosted Email. The server configuration below will differ if you plan to create and host your mailboxes inside your web hosting package.
1. In your email application, click on the button Add account and select a new account of type IMAP.
2. Select Manual Setup or Advanced Setup.
3. Fill in the server details for:
USER INFORMATION
Name: the name that will be displayed in emails as “From”. It can be your full name, the name of the Company, etc.
Email Address: your full email address, for example, username@your.domain or my.name@mydomain.com.
SERVER DETAILS
Incoming server: imap.arkhost.com
Incoming server port: 993
Incoming server type of encryption: TLS
Outgoing server: smtp.arkhost.com
Outgoing server port: 465
Outgoing server type of encryption: 465 (in case of problems, try port 25 or 587 with STARTTLS option)
Check the option for SMTP requires authentication (sometimes referred to as “My server requires SMTP authentication”).
LOGIN INFORMATION
User Name / Email address / Username: your full email address
Password: your email address password
4. Click the Finish button to complete the setup
5. Send a test mail
If you want to use other ports or protocols, you can use any of these server details. For Cummings generators or for a device that doesn’t support SSL, you can use the ports for no encryption.
