Follow these steps to rename an existing email address using your DirectAdmin control panel on arkhost.com:
-
Access Your DirectAdmin Account
Log in to your arkhost.com DirectAdmin control panel using your account credentials.
-
Navigate to Email Accounts
In the E-mail Manager section:
- Click on the E-mail Accounts icon, or
- Type "E-mail Accounts" in the navigation filter box and select the option when it appears.
-
Locate Your Email Account
Under the "Account" section, find your current email address. You'll see a Plus icon ("+") on the right-hand side of the account row.
-
Access Rename Option
Click on the Plus icon ("+") next to your email address, then select the "Change Password/Username" option from the dropdown menu.
-
Modify Email Username
In the Username field, enter the new username for your email address. This will be the part before the "@" symbol.
-
Save Changes
Click on the "Save" button to apply the new username to your email account.
Important:
Renaming your email address will change how you log in to your email account and how others can contact you. Make sure to update your email address wherever it's used.
Note:
- The domain part of your email address (after the "@" symbol) cannot be changed through this process.
- Renaming your email address does not create a new account; it modifies the existing one.
- All existing emails and settings will be preserved after renaming.
- You may need to reconfigure your email clients with the new email address.
Tips:
- Choose a professional and easy-to-remember username for your email address.
- Avoid using special characters or spaces in your email username.
- Consider setting up an email forwarding rule from your old address to the new one for a transition period.
- Inform your contacts about your new email address to ensure you don't miss important communications.
